OK – News time – We’re heading out on the road, and this time, we’re going to play “doubt” in full for the first time ever! We had such a blast playing “Liquidizer” for the DVD, that we decided to do it all again, but this time, with a proper tour.
As you know, we’re playing the Wooley Festival in September, for what will be a 25th anniversary celebration in the town where we first started, and then we’re also playing the “Indie Daze” festival at the Forum later that month. So, we decided to join up the two, and make a tour of it! The dates are:
07-Sep-14 UK – Bradford On Avon, Wiltshire, The Woolley Festival
08-Sep-14 UK – Birmingham, O2 Academy3
09-Sep-14 UK – Sheffield, O2 Academy2
10-Sep-14 UK – Nottingham Rescue Rooms
11-Sep-14 UK – Liverpool, O2 Academy2
13-Sep-14 UK – London Indie Daze – Forum
14-Sep-14 UK – Bristol Fleece
15-Sep-14 UK – Newcastle, O2 Academy2
16-Sep-14 UK – Glasgow, O2 ABC2
Tickets are on sale NOW, from the following locations:
Bristol & Nottingham:
Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle
We can’t wait to see as many of you as possible! It’s pretty odd the think that a quarter of a century after we started, and more than 20 years since the first “doubt” tour, it’s going to be the same five guys, back onstage again. 2014 is certainly turning out to be a bit of a cracker so far…
The “Off The Tracks” gig at the end of May is now looking like the curtain raiser for a pretty special year: Gen’s first proper gig since returning, and the first chance to see the original line-up back together.
We know there will be people who will look at the list of shows and think: “how come they’re not playing near me?” Well, we did our level best to get as many places as possible, around the shows we already had lined up, with the venues which were actually available, and with a timeframe that would allow Alan to come over from Chicago and join us. Phew! It’s a real juggling act, and it’s not always possible to play everywhere. All we can tell you is – we want to play more shows, in more places, more countries. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance in the future.
And, this tour isn’t the only thing we’ve been plotting. We’re also having discussions with overseas promoters about the possibility of taking these “doubt” shows elsewhere around the globe, so we’ll keep you posted. We’ve also been in discussions to see if we can do something with our catalogue, which is REALLY exciting. We don’t want to jinx it, so we’ll keep quiet for now – but as soon as we have more details, you’ll be the first to know.
Thanks again to all of you that have been in touch via our facebook and twitter pages, you’re the reason we’re doing all of this, and we’re massively grateful for the support.
More very soon,
Mike, Iain, Jez, Alan, & Gen.
