OK then. 17th November. All four of the EMI albums are FINALLY getting expanded, and reissued. Each will be available as a snazzy book-style CD set, with 2CD and 1DVD. This means all of the albums will feature Radio sessions, long-deleted b-sides, rare remixes and alternate versions. But, on top of that, there will also be a HUGE amount of extras. Each set features demos, unheard songs and more – all from our own archive. The DVD’s will feature rare live footage, shot by Mike, from some of our earliest shows, up until the Already tour.
So – on Liquidizer, there will be demos of tracks that pre-date the formation of JJ, including a rough draft of “Info Freako”. There are also the “lost” demos we did with David Motion, featuring the single edit of “Bring It On Down” that never was! There are rough mixes from the album sessions, and more.
On Doubt, there is the SECOND version of “Barry D”, Mike’s home demo of “Real…”, plus the Ben Chapman 7” edit which was shelved, and remained unheard until it was discovered this year. There is live footage of us on the first Doubt tour, too.
On Perverse, there are EIGHT unheard demos and tracks from the album sessions, including the lost tracks “St. Louis” and “Krexa”, which turned up this year on a cassette tape of Mike’s demos. There’s also live footage of the “Perverse” tour, some of the only footage from that time.
Already has a staggering SIXTEEN unheard demos, including an early draft of the album – “Here’s the Damn album Aready – the lost demos”. The package also features the ONLY footage that exists of us playing material from the album live, recording in April, 1996.
All of the albums feature extensive sleeve notes, and more – there’s 24 pages in the booklets, and they’re packed full.
The reissues look amazing, we hope you’ll enjoy them. They’ve taken almost a year to compile, and are a huge labour of love.
If you want, you can pre-order them now, from this link: Jesus Jones Reissues)
We’ll have more details, and images from all of the box-sets, very soon.
